The Sipakapense (also known as Sipakapense-Maya or Sipacapense) are an indigenous Maya people who primarily reside in the municipality of Sipacapa in the department of San Marcos, Guatemala.
- Their language, Sipakapense, is a Mayan language that belongs to the Mam branch of the Mayan language family.
- Sipakapense is closely related to other Mam languages, such as Mam and Tektiteko.
- The Sipakapense population is estimated to be around 30,000 individuals.
- They are concentrated in the municipality of Sipacapa, located in the department of San Marcos in western Guatemala, near the border with Mexico. Some Sipakapense communities can also be found in neighboring municipalities, such as San Miguel Ixtahuacán.
- In recent years, there have been efforts to promote Sipakapense rights, language, and cultural practices within Guatemala.
